Indie Temple La Flèche d’Or Reopens in Paris
Indie music fans in Paris breathed a collective sigh of relief over the summer when they learned that their preferred nightspot, La Flèche d’Or, was only closing for renovations, and not going under for good as rumored. Neighbors irked by the constant stream of noise coming from the popular venue had complained, prompting the owners to install a better sound insulation system. La Flèche d’Or finally re-opened earlier this week, kicking off the fanfare with a lineup featuring Evan Dando, Chris Brokaw and Anoraak. Now is the time to get acquainted or re-acquainted with one of the city’s high temples of indie and experimental music. However, after hearing multiple reports of rude, unfriendly bouncers and inflated drink prices, I’m hoping the owners have touched up more than the insulation system.
