Will my laptop fit in the hotel room safe in Paris?

{ Posted on May 23 2010 by OhParis }

I’m trying to decide if I should bring my laptop to Paris. We’re staying at the Renaissance Paris Hotel Le Parc Trocadero
55-57 Avenue Raymond Poincare
Paris, 75116 France
Does anyone know if the laptops will fit in the room safe? It’s about 14.5 inches by 11 inches. THANKS!!!!!

  1. My experience in Europe is that the old world hotels either don’t have safes or the safes are pretty small. The big international chains, like Hilton, Best Western or Holiday Inn, will probably have a safe large enough to accommodate your computer. You can email the concierge at your particular hotel and ask.

    If you’re worried about your data, back everything up on USB key before leaving and leave the key at home in your own home safe. Then take a USB key with you so that you can back up any new documents as you go. For recovery of the cost of the computer itself in case of theft, look into some inexpensive one-time travel insurance. There are companies that will cover a computer while you travel.

    Hope this helps and bon voyage!

  2. Hotel safes are usually around… Internal Height x 7-1/2 x 16-9/16 x 11-13/16 / W x D x x 11-13/16.
    If you need to carry it with you…try this pack…http://www.bestcomputerbags.net/product_info.php?cPath=5&products_id=12.
