Has anyone ever Pricelined a hotel in Paris?

If you did, how well did that work out? I am thinking of trying to priceline a 3 or 4 star hotel, but I have heard that in Europe sometimes 3 or 4 stars doesn’t mean the place is that nice. Could anyone offer any insight or other websites I should try? Thank you so much for the help!
Do you mind telling me which 5 star hotel and at what price? Thanks!

  1. I have, but for a 5 star.

Take a look at Priceline – regular bookings – before deciding. It’ll give you an idea of what kind of hotels you’ll get for 3 or 4 stars. They also have a guide to their rating system, since its not the typical – i’d check and confirm a 3 star includes your own bathroom. I’m sure a 4 star does, but you know what happens when you assume…. i’d check both!

  2. You are correct that the star rating system in France is not very helpful. It is a mechanistic checklist of physical amenities but does not rate, in any way, things like service, friendliness or even cleanliness.

I also notice that Priceline offers lots of hotels that may technically be in Paris but are terribly inconvenient for a tourist.
