These large format paintings play very freely with classic themes – landscapes, still lives and human figures. The energy that runs through these paintings is always associated with a very keen sense of construction. The touch is firm, full, and the sudden presence of a pair of boots, trivial and majestic at once, of course, is somewhat reminiscent of his compatriot Vincent van Gogh.

Karel Appel (Amsterdam 1921 – Zürich 2006) was one of the leading painters in the second half of the twentieth century and his name is attached to the Cobra movement, which was a source of energy.

Paris Art Galerie Larock Granoff, 13 Quai de Conti in Paris, presents from September 9, ceramics made by Karel Appel in 1997 in the workshops of the Galerie Lelong in collaboration with Hans Spinner.

13, rue de Téhéran
75008  Paris
Varnishing day (vernissage): September 3 from 6pm.

This Paris music festival for Piano at the Serres d’Auteuil, which exists since 2000, supports compositions and young musicians around the piano.

Paris Music Festival for Piano at the Serres d’Auteuil

How to celebrate the event? Since the festival is centered on the piano, it was normal to be more interested with the idea of multiplying …. by two:  an inauguration- and closing weekend of concerts by two pianos with the musicians of the first hour now internationally recognized. The ones who trusted us in 2000, to see their development ten years later, but also artists at the start of their career.

The Paris Music Festival Soloists of the Serres d’Auteuil has the flavor of a regional summer festival but it is Paris. There are always so many reasons for  music lovers to go to a concert but also – and this is the specificity of the Soloists of the Serres d’Auteuil festival – for audience that never goes classical music concert,
- Because it’s too late,
- Because it’s too long,
- Because it is too expensive
- Because it is often impossible to go as a family.

The entrance fee (10 and 15 Euros), free for children under twelve years old, allow a large audience to listen to a program of unique artists of international fame, who sponsor young talented musicians at the start of their career.

The Godmother of 2009 is Brigitte Engerer, a wonderful musician who always wants to help young artists. Further François-Frédéric Guy and Jean-Efflam Bavouzet who will play with one of their former students and who will close the evening together at two pianos.

Young musicians to discover are: Natacha Kudrystkaïa, Adam Laloum, Ho-Jeong Lee, Tristan Pfaff, Nima Sarkechik and Irene Veneziano.

Famous musicians to find without moderation are: Pascal Amoyel, Michel Beroff, Hervé Billaut, Florent Boffard, Bertrand Chamayou , Frederic Chiu, Finghin Collins, Claire Désert, Marie-Josephe Jude, David Lively, Roger Muraro, Georges Pludermacher, Hüseyin Sermet, Cédric Thiberghien.

The tenth anniversary of the Paris Music festival Soloists Serres d’Auteuil is a celebration of music from the 19th to the 28th of June and from the 28th of August to 13th of September 2009.

Address:
1 avenue Gordon Bennett
75016 Paris
