Monday 1 June 2009

Are you getting bored by the regular gyms in Paris? Do you want to have fun, and get in to shape for the summer? Consider Lambaerobica, it is a mix of aerobics combined with latin dance such as samba, lambada, salsa, merengue, and much more.

Don’t worry there is no need to have dance experience. Actually, it is a good starting point when you like to learn to dance because you get to know how to work your body and how to feel the rhythm.

Lambaérobica also known as Brazilian Gym, Axé ( “force” into Portuguese) or Swing Baiano, is the latest hype in Paris to come from Bahia, Brazil. In Brazil this class already exists for more than 15 years and emerged from an overall decrease in interest for the traditional aerobic classes. One day, students en teachers decided to add some fun, a little touch of samba (and some naughtiness) , and that’s how Lambaérobica was born.

To catch a class go Tuesday’s at 8pm to the Feeling Dance Studio, 42 rue des 7 Arpents, Paris 19, metro Hoche line 5. The first try-out class is free, after that is a €10 per class.
