I will be there for a few days in July, but all I have on my to do list is the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. I like museums, but I don’t want to spend all my time in them. What are the best things to do, historical and modern? And I need hotel and restaurant suggestions.

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Paris, France by TravelPod blogger J.strother titled “Louvre” J.strother’s travel blog entry: “Started out today with the Louvre Museum. We got on the coaches at 9 and were at the museum by 10, however because of the amount of students and the fact that we were all foreign it took us 2 hours to clear security. At one point all 150 of us were put in this holding room to be investigated, until the employee’s there thought better of it and let us in. The museum is absolutely enormous, I was there for 5 hours and I barely saw a fraction of it. I really was interested in the Greek and Roman exhibits, there were a ton of statutes and pottery. I took a picture of anything I recognized, which was fun. I also saw a bunch of ancient artifacts from Egypt and Mesopotamia which were really cool, especially the Code of Hammurabi which is the first codified legal systems ever. I also saw a lot of Italian paintings. For the most part it was a lot of religious ones; I think I’ve seen the Crucifixion in every way possible by now.I also saw Madonna on the Rocks from the the Davinici Code as well the Mona Lisa, which is kept in this room surrounded by tourists taking pictures of it. Personally I wasn’t all that impressed by it, but I’m assured by some of the students in Art History that it really is a masterpiece. After the Italian art we saw some of the more famous paintings, such as Napoleon’s Coronation and Liberty leading the Paris Guide –
