Paris Plage (Paris Beach) is back again in the capital of France. From July 20 till August 20 Parisians and tourists can enjoy the yearly artificial beach at the borders of the Seine river. Paris Plage has made it mark since its conception in July 2002 by transforming part of river Seine banks, usually occupied by traffic jams, into a beach. It’s main purpose is to allow Parisian, who do not go on summer holidays, and of course the guests of the city the delight of beach entertainment.

Paris Plage (Paris beach) offers everything you find on a real beach like tons of sand, water mist sprayers to cool off, armchairs to relax, and beach cabins made of wood and steel.

But Paris plage is also free concerts, free sports, and lots of cultural events.

Paris Beach can be found on the Voie Georges-Pompidou in the center of Paris.

But there is a catch, make sure if you decide to book just outside of Paris that you have a subway station (Paris Métro) close by so that you do not have to join the millions of people who are blocked daily in traffic jams each day to get in to the city. The Paris underground (Paris Métro) covers the following cities: Saint Denis, Saint Ouen, Asniéres sur Siene, Genevilliers, Clichy, Levallois-Perret, Neully sur Seine, Boulogne Billancourt, Issy les Moulineaux, Vanves, Arcueil, Ivry sur Seine, Charenton le Pont, Vincennes, Montreuil, and Pantin. But be careful the density of stations in those cities is much less than in Paris, so a hotel can still be far from the underground.
